The second thematic workshop on improving public urban planning policies entitled “Implementation of thematic measures in the existing methodology and procedures of urban planning” within the UN Women project “Safety of girls and women in public space” was held on June 9th, 2023.
The workshop was created for experts in the field of urban and spatial planning and consisted of an analysis of four typical urban environments: part of Vračar municipality, block 70 in New Belgrade, part of the settlement of Kaluđerica and park “Ušće”. Divided into groups, with the mentoring work of the team members of the Institute for Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning of Serbia, the participants reviewed the situation at the locations and proposed measures to improve the safety conditions of girls and women.
