Representatives of the Institute of Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning of Serbia (IAUS), together with colleagues from the City of Šabac, participated in the NONA project meeting held on 28–29 January 2026 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The meeting was hosted by the Cluj-Napoca, Cluster of Education (C-EDU) in cooperation with Urbasofia S.R.L., and gathered representatives of all project partner institutions.
The primary objective of the meeting was to consolidate progress within the NONA project and to further prepare partner cities for investment-oriented promotion of their pilot areas. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening investment readiness, refining pilot profiles, and enhancing pitching capacities through a structured training session and workshop dedicated to green investment funding for degraded areas.
During the session dedicated to investment forums and pilot updates, the Letnjikovac pilot area in Šabac was presented by Nataša Čolić Marković and Borjan Brankov (IAUS), with Dejan Vujić and Igor Ćurčić (City of Šabac). The presentation outlined the progress achieved through the application of the NONA common methodology, with particular focus on the Regional Investment Forum held in Šabac in October 2025.
The pitch training session and group exercises strengthened the capacity of all partners to frame pilot projects in an investor-oriented manner and to position green investments within broader sustainable urban and territorial development strategies.
The meeting also included the presentation of the forthcoming Investment Brochure for the Šabac pilot area, updates on communication activities and pilot profile design, as well as peer exchange on governance approaches and implementation pathways. A study visit to degraded areas in Cluj-Napoca provided additional insight into local strategies for urban regeneration and heritage protection.
The meeting concluded with confirmed next steps, including further development of investment packages and pilot profiles, preparation for the Green Investment Forum in Reșița in April 2026, and planning of the final NONA project meeting, which will be hosted by IAUS and the City of Šabac in June 2026.
The joint work and exchange in Cluj-Napoca reinforced transnational cooperation and provided valuable inputs for the continued development of the Letnjikovac pilot as a model for integrating green investments into sustainable urban governance.
