“Ecological connection, network of life for people and nature” – the first publication within the ConnectGREEN project

After the first successful year of the project ConnectGREEN (DTP 072-2.3) – Restoring and managing ecological corridors in the mountains as the green infrastructure in the Danube basin, implemented within the second phase of the INTERREG  Danube Transnational program, a brochure  “Ecological connectivity, a network of life for people and nature” was designed.

The purpose of the brochure is to acquaint the general public with ecological connectivity and its importance at the global and local level and point out the problems and consequences of fragmentation of landscapes and ecosystems, as well as the opportunities to overcome them.

Furthermore, the brochure gives information on basic ideas, project goals, project implementation locations and animal species that are being protected from the effects of urban development and transport infrastructure (brown bear, wolf, and Eurasian lynx).
