Exhibition “Spatial and urban planning of Kosovo and Metohija”

The Association of Spatial Planners of Serbia, the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the University of Pristina-Kosovska Mitrovica and the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography in cooperation with numerous scientific-educational, scientific-research and other professional public and private companies and institutions organized the exhibition “Spatial and urban planning of Kosovo and Metohija” on June 2 and 3, 2022 in Kosovska Mitrovica.

The realized exhibition includes a display of planning and other professional documents (strategies, urban projects, studies, research, programs and projects) made for the area of ​​Kosovo and Metohija, with special reference to those up to 1999. The exhibition shows the good practice of spatial and urban planning of Kosovo and Metohija, the contribution of the planning profession, and as an example and basis for further planning, development and arrangement of the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.

The goal of the organizers was to collect and systematize the available planning and other professional documents made for the area of ​​Kosovo and Metohija, in order to publish their summary in a peer-reviewed thematic catalog. The goal of the exhibition is also the affirmation of the planning profession and the activity of spatial and urban planning, and the promotion of the previous work and results of professional institutions focused on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija and their contribution to the planning, development and arrangement of space and settlements of Kosovo and Metohija.

The theme of the exhibition is planning documents of all levels and other professional documents (urban projects, studies, research, programs and projects) that were made for the area of ​​Kosovo and Metohija. The exhibition includes the following categories: 1. Spatial plans (1.1. regional spatial plans and spatial plans of special purpose areas; 1.2. spatial plans of cities and municipalities); 2. Urban plans (2.1. general urban plans; 2.2. regulatory and detailed urban plans); 3. Urban projects and realizations; 4. Research, studies, programs and projects in the field of spatial and urban planning; 5. Publications.

The Institute of Architecture and Urbanism of Serbia participated in all categories, with a total of 17 selected plans and projects, 11 studies and 25 publications.
