The Institute of Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning of Serbia (IAUS) in cooperation with the City of Šabac, achieved remarkable success and international visibility through its participation in two prominent exhibitions held in November 2025 – the 34th International Urban Planner Exhibition in Zrenjanin and the 7th Balkan Architectural Biennale – BAB 25, titled “NEW Bauhaus on Balkan”, in Belgrade.
At the 34th International Urban Planner Exhibition, organised by the Serbian Association of Urban Planners, IAUS participated with twelve works across six categories and received seven awards, including the Grand Award of the Exhibition. This notable achievement reaffirms the Institute’s long-standing professional excellence and its leading role in the field of spatial and urban planning, as well as research in Serbia and the wider region. Among the awarded works was the research poster prepared within the framework of the international project NONA – New Governance for New Spaces, titled “Research in the field of encouraging green investments in sustainable and integrated urban development, based on the participatory planning practice within the NONA project.”
Shortly after, IAUS in cooperation with the City of Šabac, presented another poster at the 7th Balkan Architectural Biennale – BAB 25, held at the Salon of the Belgrade City Museum. The poster titled “Application of the NEB principles through implementation of the international NONA project at the pilot site Letnjikovac in Šabac” was exhibited within the thematic framework “NEW Bauhaus on Balkan.” It addressed the integration of green investments and New European Bauhaus (NEB) principles into sustainable urban development, focusing on the participatory process and the interdisciplinary collaboration initiated through the NONA project.
Through participation in these two major international events, IAUS has significantly contributed to the promotion and dissemination of the NONA project and strengthened its visibility within the professional, academic, and regional context. The recognitions received reaffirm the Institute’s institutional credibility and leadership in promoting sustainable, inclusive, and innovative approaches to spatial and urban planning.
